The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday sought a report from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department and the investigation officer over a petition challenging the confiscation of arms and ammunition from an arms factory.
A bench headed by PHC Chief Justice S.M. Ateeq Shah heard the petition.
During the hearing, the chief justice questioned the investigation officer about progress in the case and asked what action had been taken so far.
The investigation officer told the court that he had been handed over the case two months ago and needed more time to complete the investigation.
The chief justice expressed displeasure over the investigation, noting that the officer had not even verified the arms factory’s licence during the two-month period.
The court directed the investigation officer to complete the investigation and submit a report.
The PHC adjourned further hearing of the case until October 19.
