Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Saturday criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over internal differences, saying the party lacked a clear strategy to address the current political situation.
Speaking to a private television channel, Abbasi said PTI members held differing views on the political situation and the party’s future course of action, reflecting a lack of consensus within its ranks.
The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), stressing the need for sustained efforts to protect citizens’ lives and property and ensure peace and stability in the province. He said people in KP were becoming frustrated with the PTI-led provincial government due to a lack of public relief measures and persistent security challenges.
Abbasi also accused the provincial government of corruption in various sectors, including education and health.
Commenting on the security situation, he said changing circumstances had boosted the courage and confidence of the KP police, enabling them to confront terrorism with greater determination and resilience.
