Security forces have killed five Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Pishin district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on February 22, 2026, following reports about the presence of terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khwarij.
The ISPR said security forces effectively engaged the entire terrorist cell using multiple weapons. During an intense exchange of fire, one suicide bomber detonated himself, while four other terrorists were killed.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the slain militants, who, according to the statement, were actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area.
The military said sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure no other Indian-sponsored terrorists remain in the vicinity.
Reaffirming its resolve, the ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm e Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee, to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
