The Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association have announced a judicial boycott in protest against the recent increase in petroleum product prices.
According to spokespersons, lawyers will attend to urgent cases at the Lahore High Court before observing a strike.
President Babar Murtaza said the protest is specifically against the hike in petroleum prices, adding that lawyers in subordinate courts across Lahore will stage a complete boycott.
He stressed that any increase in petroleum prices is unacceptable, noting that the boycott is aimed at protecting public interest and ensuring transparency within the judicial system.
Lawyers will refrain from appearing in courts as part of the protest.
