Chief of the Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu on Friday said Pakistan remains committed to peace and dialogue, while warning that any aggression against the country would be met with a swift and strong response.
Addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, the air chief reiterated Islamabad’s continued political and moral support for the people of Kashmir, stressing that the dispute should be resolved in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Congratulating graduating cadets, including those from friendly countries, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu expressed satisfaction over the participation of female cadets and described PMA Kakul as one of the world’s leading military training institutions.
He reminded the cadets that their foremost responsibility was to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Referring to past military engagements, he said the Pakistan Army had demonstrated its strategy in operations such as “Ma’arka-e-Haq” and “Bunyan-um-Marsoos”, while the Pakistan Air Force had made history by downing enemy aircraft, showcasing its capability and professionalism.
He added that Pakistan’s response in previous conflicts had taken adversaries by surprise and underscored that any future aggression on Pakistani soil would be countered decisively and in record time.
The air chief also appreciated international efforts aimed at promoting peace and commended the country’s political and military leadership.
The ceremony marked the passing out of cadets from the 153rd PMA Long Course and the 38th Technical Graduate Course. Despite rain, the cadets continued the parade and presented a salute to the chief guest.
Cadets from several countries, including Sri Lanka, Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Maldives, Mali and Nepal also graduated.
Awards and honours were conferred on outstanding cadets, and the ceremony concluded with the graduating officers taking an oath of loyalty to the motherland.
