A Karachi court on Monday declared the production of suspected drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky at the City Court unsafe and ordered that all further proceedings be conducted inside prison premises due to security concerns.
Sessions Judge Zahoor Ahmed Hakro directed that remand proceedings in the case be held at the Central Jail Complex instead of the City Court. The court also allowed the suspect to be produced in a temporary courtroom established within the jail.
According to the order, the concerned judicial magistrate has been instructed to visit the Central Jail Complex to conduct proceedings in connection with FIR No. 147/2026 registered at Baghdadi Police Station under Section 302.
The court observed that the suspect’s production at the City Court could pose a serious security risk and potentially disturb law and order, prompting the shift of proceedings to the jail premises. Police had moved a special application seeking the arrangement on security grounds.
Authorities directed the investigating officer and relevant magistrates to ensure immediate implementation of the court’s orders.
Meanwhile, Darakhshan police have filed a review petition challenging the judicial remand order. Karachi police have also put in place a heightened security plan amid concerns over threats to the accused, who has been described in media reports as the “Cocaine Queen.”
