Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in Skardu on Monday to launch his party’s election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the upcoming polls.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman was received at Skardu airport by senior party leaders and government officials, including Nayar Bukhari, Humayun Khan, Syed Mehdi Shah and Sardar Saleem Haider.
Several other party office-bearers, including Nadeem Afzal Chan, were also present to welcome him.
As part of his visit, Mr Bhutto-Zardari is scheduled to address a public gathering in Gulabpur tehsil of Shigar District, marking the start of the PPP’s election campaign in the region.
The PPP chairman is also expected to address rallies in Skardu, Chilas, Ghizer and Gilgit during his visit, where he will outline the party’s agenda and seek support for PPP candidates contesting the elections.
