Court declares Omar Ayub proclaimed offender in Nov 26 protest case

A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Friday declared Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub a proclaimed offender and issued his permanent arrest warrants in connection with a case related to the November 26 protest.

Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi passed the order after Omar Ayub repeatedly failed to appear before the court despite being summoned.

The court subsequently declared the PTI leader a proclaimed offender and ordered the issuance of permanent arrest warrants.

Omar Ayub is facing charges in a case registered at the Secretariat police station over the November 26 protest under Section 144 and other relevant provisions of the law.
