Water flow remains normal in most rivers across Punjab, while low-level flooding continues at Tarbela and Kalabagh along the Indus River, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
A PDMA spokesperson said water levels in the Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi and Sutlej rivers are within normal limits.
Water flow in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, Nullah Palkhu and other streams is also normal. However, low-level flooding has been reported in Nullah Deg, an important tributary connected to the Ravi River, where the discharge was recorded at 15,500 cusecs.
The PDMA said water flow at Kalabagh has reached 321,000 cusecs, while 250,000 cusecs was recorded at Tarbela.
Tarbela Dam is currently 100% full, while Mangla Dam has reached 77% of its storage capacity.
PDMA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa urged citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the prevailing weather and flood situation.
He advised people to avoid recreational activities near rivers, canals and streams and urged parents to take special care of children.
Citizens were also advised to strictly prevent children from swimming or bathing in rivers, streams and other waterways.
