ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday inaugurated the new Command, Control, Communication and Coordination Centre of Islamabad Police, aimed at strengthening police command, monitoring and coordination across the federal capital.
The facility will enable the Islamabad Inspector General (IG) to directly monitor and command Safe City operations, police activities and the overall law and order situation from a single platform.
Speaking at the inauguration, Naqvi said the centre would improve command structures, coordination among police units, monitoring mechanisms and decision-making processes.
Under the new system, major operational systems of Islamabad Police, including the Safe City network, have been integrated into a central command and control platform. The system will allow the police chief to monitor developments in real time and issue immediate instructions during emergencies and security-related incidents.
Naqvi said artificial intelligence and other technology-based systems would help improve police performance, response times and monitoring of field personnel.
During his visit, the minister inspected various sections of the centre and reviewed its monitoring and command systems. He was briefed on the integrated platform covering Safe City operations, police activities, field force monitoring, emergency response mechanisms and AI-based technology.
The interior minister said the centre would strengthen communication and coordination among different police units, enabling faster information sharing, decision-making and police response during emergencies.
He said the initiative was aimed at strengthening police command, monitoring and accountability through modern technology, while also enabling authorities to closely monitor the performance of personnel deployed in the field.
Naqvi said protection of citizens, improvement in police performance and maintenance of law and order in Islamabad remained the government’s top priorities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, the Director General of Islamabad Police and other senior officials.
