Pakistan and Egypt have successfully concluded a two-week joint military exercise, “Thunder-II,” focused on enhancing counterterrorism capabilities, at Cherat.
The exercise was aimed at improving interoperability between the armed forces of both countries through joint training, refining operational drills, procedures, and techniques in counterterrorism operations.
Elite combat teams from the Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army and the Egyptian Special Forces took part in the exercise, demonstrating high levels of professionalism and operational expertise throughout the training.
The closing ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding of the Special Services Group as the chief guest. Commander of Egyptian Paratroopers, Major General Mohamed Saad Abdel Razik, along with Egypt’s Defence Attaché, also witnessed the concluding event.
Officials said the exercise not only enhanced tactical coordination but also reinforced the longstanding military-to-military relations between Pakistan and Egypt, reflecting growing defence cooperation between the two countries.
