Widespread rain and stormy weather continue to batter Pakistan, triggering flood-like conditions in several regions and resulting in multiple casualties.
In Islamabad, hailstorms accompanied heavy rainfall, causing a sharp drop in temperature. Similar weather was reported in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Sargodha, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Gujranwala.
In Mianwali, flooding was reported in Kundal Chhura Wala after the Kurram River overflowed, inundating residential areas and damaging homes.
Northern tourist destinations including Naran, Swat, Babusar Top, and Nanga Parbat experienced intermittent snowfall, intensifying the cold weather.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rain affected multiple districts. In Parachinar, a road linked to a bridge over the Kurram River was washed away, while separate incidents of a roof collapse and lightning strikes left two people dead.
In Khyber District, a vehicle was swept away by flash floods on the Pak-Afghan Highway, killing three people.
In Balochistan, rainfall in northern districts and light snowfall in upper areas brought colder conditions, while at least five people were killed in rain-related incidents.
Rainfall also persisted in Azad Kashmir.
The weather department has forecast another spell of rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from April 6 to 9, raising concerns of further flooding and damage. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as adverse weather continues nationwide.
