Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts to promote regional peace and security during a telephone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The 50-minute conversation featured a detailed exchange of views on the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring stability.
The prime minister appreciated Iran’s participation in recent talks held in Islamabad on the 11th and 12th of the month, and welcomed Tehran’s decision to send a high-level delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi for further discussions.
Shehbaz Sharif also shared details of his recent diplomatic outreach to global leaders, noting that these engagements have helped build broader consensus in support of continued dialogue and diplomacy for lasting peace.
President Pezeshkian thanked the prime minister, Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar for their contributions to peace efforts, and expressed confidence that Pakistan-Iran ties would continue to grow stronger.
The prime minister also conveyed his regards to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on regional matters and continue working together for peace and stability.
