Dense fog disrupts traffic, flight operations across Punjab

Dense fog blanketed several cities of Punjab on Sunday, sharply reducing visibility and disrupting road and air travel.

Motorway authorities said the M-2 motorway has been closed from Lahore to Kot Momin due to poor visibility, while the M-3 has been shut from Faizpur to Samundri. Vehicle entry on the M-4 motorway has also been suspended between Shams Kot and Abdul Hakeem.

Officials added that the Lahore–Sialkot motorway (M-11) has been closed as dense fog continues to hamper safe travel. The Motorway Police advised motorists to use fog lights, maintain safe distances, and drive with extreme caution.

Foggy conditions also affected air travel, with authorities confirming that seven domestic and international flights were disrupted because of low visibility.

The Motorway Police urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy conditions and strictly follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
