Punjab governor reviews plan for new Nara Tehsil in Attock

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that every moment of his tenure is dedicated to the people of Punjab, as he chaired a meeting to review progress on the establishment of a new Nara Tehsil in Attock.

The meeting, held at the Governor House, included detailed briefings by officials of the Board of Revenue Punjab, including Deputy Secretary Rana Aftab and Director Azmat Salman, who outlined developments related to the proposed administrative unit.

The governor stressed the need to prioritize development in underdeveloped and remote districts, noting that the creation of Nara Tehsil is a longstanding public demand.

He said the proposed tehsil, comprising seven union councils of Jand Tehsil, would help address regional disparities and improve governance. According to him, the move will enhance public service delivery and administrative efficiency for local residents.

Officials also briefed the meeting on the legal status of the proposal under Clause 6 of the Board of Revenue rules, confirming that the case for establishing Nara Tehsil will soon be presented before the provincial cabinet for approval.
